The most important: gate assignments at GDL are not fixed. The airport runs a dynamic gate allocation system, which means the gate shown when you checked in may not be your gate at boarding time. Aeroméxico international departures are the most stable — Pier A gates A3 through A5 handle the bulk of their schedule with minimal changes. Volaris and VivaAerobus on Pier B shuffle gates more frequently, especially on afternoons when multiple aircraft are turning around in tight windows. My rule: always verify your gate on the board within 30 minutes of your boarding time, even if you already know it.
The second thing to know: "Delayed" on this board means the airline has officially logged a delay in the system. But sometimes a flight runs late without ever formally changing status — it just shows as On Time until it quietly becomes "Boarding" 25 minutes late. If your flight is in the 7–10 AM or 5–8 PM banks — peak departure windows at GDL — build 15 extra minutes into your gate arrival time as a buffer.

Under Mexican aviation law (PROFECO), airlines must provide meal vouchers for delays over 2 hours. Ask at the gate or airline desk. If you're connecting, go to customer service immediately to discuss rebooking before the connecting flight fills up — other delayed passengers will have the same idea.
Cancellation protocol
